Design Brief
For this shoot, I worked as the show photographer for Heritage Horse Trials. Competitors want sharp action shots to share on social media or print that display their skills.
Process
Show Day
Heritage Horse Trial starts early and typically runs the full length of the day for the entire weekend. With several hundred competitors it is impossible to capture everything at once and therefore necessary to hire second shooters. As the head photographer I hired two sub-shooters. However all photos displayed below were shot by me.
Photographing Horses Sports
Shooting horses in action is a skill that must be learned and practiced. Riders search for very specific angles and moments that last mere milliseconds. It is imperative that your camera be positioned, in focus, and you click at the exact moment in order to obtain the perfect shot.
